About Me

Nice to meet you!

My name is Erin Zabel and I currently work in Utrecht. I'm a wife and a mother, as well as daughter, friend, and ongoing learner. I'm originally from the United States, but have lived in the Netherlands for several years over a couple of different periods. As a mother, I've realized the importance of living a more balanced life, which has led me to pursue opening my own practice.

Background

As an individual who was late-diagnosed with ADHD, endured parental bereavement as a child, as well as experienced various traumas, I know personally how jarring these experiences can be. In addition to this, my professional training has largely equipped me with the appropriate skills to assist clients in lasting change. I utilize multiple evidence-based treatment modalities such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), IFS (Internal Family Systems), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), and Attachment Theory in my practice.

I strive to cultivate a space that supports and welcomes people across differences in gender identity, sexual orientation, culture, invisible disabilities, and belief systems. I am mindful of the privileges I hold—including those related to race, access to higher education, and able-bodiedness—while also recognizing the ways in which my gender, neurodivergence, and experience of immigration shape my own perspective.
